Down but not quite out entrepreneur
Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) is on a last effort to save his Moon Theatre
by organising a singing competition. A ‘little’ numerical error in the prize
money attract hoards closet singers to audition for the competition (Paws down,
best part of the movie!). Buster finally picks his five (5) finalist comprising
of Mike, a mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant, Meena (Tori Kelly) who has great voice along with an enormous case of stage fright, an overworked and underappreciated housewife pig with 25 piglets, Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), a young gangster gorilla, Johnny (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family's brush with the law and a punk-rock porcupine, Ash (Scarlett Johnasson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo. Buster meanwhile bust-pun intended his butt to keep their spirit high while also trying to convince former superstar Nnan Noodleman to sponsor the prize money. Anything and everything that could go wrong brings down the whole auditorium along with Buster's dream to be a successful business-koala. After such fall from grace, can Buster finally recover or go down in history as one big loser?

Get ready to laugh, hum, move, have fun and heck even
sing a little while watching this simply entertaining flick. Previously we have
heard the likes of Reese, Seth and Scarlett belt out some songs and who would
have thought that ‘Eggsy’ (Taron Egerton) has such a soulful voice and singer
Tori Kelly could ‘act’? Round it up with Matthew and voila, you have a group of
veterans and newbies having fun voicing each of their character brilliantly!
Besides the cast, the song choices are also awesome. From old school to latest
hit, you will find yourself trying to guess the title and original singer while
enjoy the new version sung by the animals. Despite being a singing competition,
there are also some moral lesson to be learned, such as self-confidence, being
resilient and humbleness among others. All this and more are worth the ticket
price you pay to catch this wonderful flick in the big screen.
