Say hi to Newt! |
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Review – This is the story of a student expelled from Hogwarts who later on becomes a Magizoologist.

The new batch |
The spin off to the Harry Potter series introduce us to a wizard called Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) who arrives in New York and gets tangled up with a No-Maj called Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler). Newt has to work together with Jacob to capture back some of the creatures that have escaped from his suitcase. They then come across sisters, Tina (a former Auror) and Queenie (with the ability to read minds) who also decide to lend a hand until they realize that a dangerous destructive force called Obscurus is on lose and wreaking havoc around the city. With time running out can Newt and his new found friends grab hold of the Fantastic Beasts?

Family potrait? |
With an Oscar winner helming as the protagonist and supported by names such a Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman and Johnny Depp (albeit his brief appearance), one can bet the cast roles will only improve once this franchise takes off to greater heights. I for one can’t wait to see who else will accompany this new wizard in his upcoming adventures. However, Eddie did seem to put too much of an effort on trying to be too timid and nerdy. His sidekick Dan on the other hand was a joy to watch because we could relate to his experience of finding out about a whole new world he didn’t know existed. Don’t get me started about the fantastic beasts, some were intimidating, fearful, cute but the cheeky Niffler got the most laughs from the cinema audience. As this is the first release of the other side of the wizarding world, we get to see how the Americans were trying hard to keep their existence a secret from the muggles. With different rules and era of magic, we come face to face with diversity how magic is viewed back then.

Nifty Niffler! |
With at least another four (4) sequels pending release for this latest franchise, I can’t wait to meet more interesting new characters and perhaps some familiar faces as well.
