Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Review

Ethan...I mean Jack...are you back?

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Review – Ethan Hunt…errr…I mean Jack Reacher is back…again.
Bruised but still good looking!

Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) is a former military personnel who is used to work alone. However after helping to capture a corrupt sheriff, Reacher comes across Susan Turner over the phone. Pretty soon their telephone becomes a routine and Reacher decides to visit her in Washington. Upon his arrival  Jack learns that Susan have been arrested under suspicion of espionage. He refuses to believe and does his own investigation and soon get on the heels of those responsible for framing Susan. Jack also stumbles upon a scheme that involves those in high position in the military. Can Jack rescue Susan and also get to the bottom of the  conspiracy before he himself becomes a victim?

...Think we should join the parade?

Tom Cruise has been our go-to-guy for action packed flicks for years and he doesn’t disappoint us with Jack. My complain is, since he is already playing Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible (MI) franchise, perhaps Mr. Cruise is being a bit selfish by also taking on this role. I had to tell myself that I am watching Jack and not Ethan during the movie. There are some difference but the similarities are too obvious at times. The difference if any is Tom seems to look a little ‘aged’ in this although this is just the second film under the Reacher series. Our hero still packs the punch and this time is joined by another hottie, Cobie Smulders. After previously pairing with Rebecca Ferguson in Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation, Cobie also give Tom a chase for his money by performing well in her role as Susan Turner. Another resemblance to MI is the storyline which runs along the military involvement sans the MI team mates. Tried and tested method got to me after a while but it was still an entertaining view.

Jack : I wonder what kinda President Trump will be....

I’m sorry Tom but I prefer you as Ethan Hunt than Jack Reacher. The end.
