Deepwater Horizon Review

Remember this 'burning' news?

Deepwater Horizon Review – Movie based on true event that took place on oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico in 20th April 2010.
Mr. Maze Runner and Mr Muscle in the same movie?

Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) joins his colleagues, Jimmy Harrell (Kurt Russel), Andrea Fleytas (Gina Rodriguez) along with some BP executives and heads back to Deepwater Horizon oil rig to continue the drilling job. Since the team is already behind schedule the officials starts to push the workers to expedite the task. When the first test to check the stability of the platform fails, Jimmy insists on stalling and conducting more tests. Ignoring his advice and going ahead with the drilling proves to be a costly mistake. The pressure built up triggers a devastating explosion. The team then scrambles to save their live trying to leave the disaster site which afterward becomes the worst oil spill in the U.S history.
John oh John...only you could play an annoying Exec

Mark Wahlberg does what he do best, role playing as a caring father to a concerned co-worker. His switch from a funny to serious person comes naturally coupled with that good looking face and macho body feature is truly a bonus. Ehem. Special mention goes to veteran Kurt Russel for scoring full marks for his  character as the strict yet  considerate Mr. Jimmy looking after his team. The story build up is rather slow at the beginning but once everything goes wrong, it escalates pretty fast and you gotta catch up on who is doing what. The special effect to capture the full extent of the tragedy is done well from view of the underwater to the angles of the oil rig. Just be prepared to be blown away and witness how quick a small error can turn into a huge catastrophe.
The well from hell burning down

If you wonder why those working in oil rigs earn big money, this flick will make you understand what are they risking to that much. Know what I mean?
