The Heat review

Dynamic duo?

The Heat review – Welcome back Sandra! Owh how much I’ve missed you being funny while I’m glad Melissa is going places with her wit! If you wanna know how to cuss at almost every situation, be it good or bad, watch this flick. I gotta admit it kinda reminds me of myself because I tend to do the same sometimes (Fine! I do it most of the times, so what? sue me motherfucker! ops…ehehehe)
Ready to kick some serious arse
The movie is a no brainer, pure entertainment kinda show where you don’t have to wreck your brain trying to figure out who is the bad/good cop/guy. Sandra’s character Ashburn and Melissa’s character Mullins blends well once they get over who is best between them phase. They compete at first but then rely on each other to bring down the bad guys. Throw in some funny supporting cast member and you get loads of laugh out loud moments.
Dafug just happen?
I’m so glad that Sandra is back to her ‘Miss Congeniality’  kinda part instead of ‘I’m-so-serious-I’m-gonna-win-an-Oscar-role’. No offence, I do like her when she plays serious roles but this kinda part (as in Sarah Ashburn) is tailor made for her. She doesn’t have to do much yet you will love her no matter what. Melissa meanwhile, I remember her as the adorable chef, Sookie in Gilmore Girls, I’m pleased she have moved on from the small screen to the big screen because she definitely have the personality to play multiple role. I’m waiting for her to take on some serious role.
Woman can handle big toys too!
So folks, what are you waiting for? Gather your friend/s, preferably someone who is not easily offended by having to listen to the word fuck in almost every sentence Check your local cinema listings for a perfect time to unwind and get away from the heat outside and enjoy The Heat instead!
Thank you so much!
P/s – Thank you hot magazine and Churp Churp respectively for the preview tickets!

Monsters University Review

Hi there! Welcome to MU!!!
Monsters University Review – I never had the opportunity to attend university yet I can still relate to it. It’s pretty much like high school as well. You got the jocks, the geeks, the misfit…I can’t pin point which group I belonged to. I pretty much got along well with everyone (in fact I still do) as long they got along with me.
Meet Oozma Kappa!
The same however can’t be said about Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal), the poor fella didn’t even get picked by his own cousin to be his buddy. Mike however had bigger dreams; to become the best scarcer ever so he planned his childhood around attending the prestigious Monsters University when he grows up and the hardworking monster aculi makes his way into the scarring
program. He shared his room with his future nemesis Randy (voiced by Steve Buscemi) while he hated the sight of his future BMFF (that’s Best Monster Friends Forever) James P. Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman). Sully was the ‘IT’ monster everyone wanted to be friends but he had his own issue. Together this future employee goes thru their lesson before eventually landing job at Monster’s Inc.
Redy for Uni!
The voice talent as you can see was perfectly cast, with the Billy, John and Steve returning with new addition in the form of Helen Mirren, Dave Foley and Alfred Molina to name a few. The story is very relatable to those who attend any kind of school. You learn to work together, listen to others and help each other. You make mistake and you learn from it.
Heck yeah! Mike & Sully!
It was a fun ride to witness with vibrant colors and fun music all around the campus. The Pixar people made us wait more than ten (10) years to bring back Mike and Sully and it was totally worth it. I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen after this.
Go get your tickets now!
I would like to thank Oreo Malaysia for the awesome free screening (in 3D some more, even though 3D effect was not that visible) together with the complimentary pop corn and goodie bag!

Thank you Oreo Malaysia!

World War Z Review

Watch out zeeks! Am here!
World War Z Review – I can’t believe it! Brad finally caught the zombie bug as well! Before you go, “how could you Brad?” please mind that this fella bought the right to make this movie so he must be really into the story and indeed he was! As I mentioned before, I’m not a big fan of anything involving zombie and let’s face it, Brad have busy being a Dad compared to acting lately, the last movie I watched starring him, Killing Me Softly stirred loads of mixed feeling in me about him. Somehow I read good review about this flick so I chose to take the risk, which was paid off handsomely much like Brad himself.
Mana aku nak larek neh? Semua tempat dah kena kepung! :P

The movie moves swiftly switch from one bad news scene to another with some good news scene as well. You get to witness first-hand what happens in an event of a zombie apocalypse. How to save your arse. I almost terjerit sebab terkejut katak at some of the scenes. It was nicely done. You get right amount of fear, suspense, hopefulness and terkejutness! At some point you will be like, terrer ah Brad ni. Kalau betul-betul kena serang, kena carik this Gerry Lane fella (Brad’s character) because you chance of surviving are better if you stick near him. Brad really did an awesome job. I still hate his latest hairdo though! Tolong visit a hairdresser soon. The other supporting characters may just have small role but it was made equally important when the spotlight was pointed at them. Heck even the ‘zombies’ get their moments.
My turn! my turn! my turn!
Memang disgusting giler tengok the un-dead creatures up close. Background music chun giler, camera work was spot on capturing the moments from every angle. Overall memang happy giler lar tengok gamba ni! Meanwhile the story inspired loads of reaction in me. How do one react if caught in the same situation? Would you just give up or scarify yourself for the benefit of strangers or would you be selfish and screw the rest of the population? One thing for sure, it is each for their own.
What if it really happens?

Make your way to the nearest cinema and enjoy this flick while waiting for another zombie movie invade the dark room!!!
Survival guide from zombie invasion!

Superman eh i mean Man of Steel review

S marks the spot!
Superman eh i mean Man of Steel review – So one major thing you will notice is Superman…err…I mean Man of Steel finally figures out that underwear are meant to be worn inside and not outside especially if it’s red in color. Honestly I think Superman is going down the new James Bond and Batman road and lost its initial charm. With Christopher Nolan being the Producer, I can see Man of Steel is gonna get darker as the sequel comes on. Gone are the days where Superman with his fun klutzy side into more serious persona.
Mixture casting.
We get to witness how Kal-El is brought into his dying planet and how his parents tried their best to give him a choice they didn’t get to have. He literally holds the key to his planet’s survival and is hunted down by his father once friend from Krypton. Along the way, Kal-El becomes Clark Kent living among the humans and trying to adapt to Earth’s custom. He is faced with numerous challenges to choose to be human or show his power in order to help humans.
Hello there good looking!
As for the casting, Henry is spot on as the new Superman, so damn good looking that you won’t mind the jumping timeline story. Aculi, I did mind because I think it was overdone. One scene he was a young boy, then grown man, then a schoolboy then grown up again…like….adoi dah ler tuh. How many times nak lompat-lompat ni? Amy Adams, takes times to grow on you, personally I still like Teri Hatcher so sue me! 2013 must be year of comeback for veteran actors as we get to see Kevin ‘The Bodyguard’ Costner and Diane ‘still kinda hot’ Lane as Clark Kent’s parent. Then there is Russell ‘I’m getting old’ Crowe and Lawrence ‘CSI not working out for him’ Fishburne on the payroll as well. Michael ‘I’m really a bad-arse’ Shannon as General Zod really kicked Sups butt!
Chris is still my fav! Underwear in or out!
If you are looking to watch Christopher Reeve kinda Superman, you will be disappointed because the new version is really something else. Even the familiar theme music is no longer the same. As for the story, the destruction caused during the epic battle between Superman and General Zod will make you wonder who the heck is gonna clean up the mess? A city is practically destroyed while these two aliens try to prove who the best is. It could have gone so much better if only they didn’t go overboard with the fight scenes.
Why so serious dude?
I’m not sure if I would want to watch the sequels if this is the route Superman chose to fly.
